President-elect Donald Trump will situation “a blizzard of executive orders” as quickly as he inaugurated Jan. 20, Sen. John Barrasso predicted Sunday.

Talking on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” the Wyoming Republican stated: “When President Trump takes office next Monday, there is going to be shock and awe with executive orders. A blizzard of executive orders on the economy, as well as on the border.”

Govt orders, for higher or worse, permit a president to bypass Congress. However Barrasso, the brand new Senate majority whip, stated that he expects Trump to additionally depend on the slender Republican majority within the Senate and much more slender one within the Home to get his agenda enacted.

“When we met with President Trump earlier this past week,” he instructed host Margaret Brennan, “what President Trump said the No. 1 goal for the Senate needs to be to get his team in place. I’ve met with just about all of them. I support every one of these nominees. As the whip, my job is to make sure they get across the finish line. Get on the job, and President Trump deserves a team early.”

Barrasso additionally stated it doesn’t matter to Trump what number of items of laws are required to enact his agenda so long as laws is handed.

“President Trump says he doesn’t care if it’s one bill, two bills, three bills. He wants the results,” Barrasso stated.
