Sweetgreen, the custom-made salad and grain bowl purveyor launched by three new faculty grads in 2007, has expanded to Santa Clara.
The restaurant opened Tuesday at Santa Clara Sq., the workplace, residential and retail complicated situated alongside Freeway 101 and throughout the freeway from Levi’s Stadium. There’s seating for 30 diners indoors and 20 outdoors.
Sweetgreen makes a speciality of from-scratch preparations. KBBQ Steak bowls and plates — with cucumber kimchi, spicy broccoli and apple kimchi sauce — are the latest menu choices. Bestsellers embrace the Caramelized Steak and Miso Salmon plates and the Harvest and Crispy Rice bowls.
For each meal that was bought on opening day, Sweetgreen donated a meal to Starvation at Dwelling, a Santa Clara County nonprofit.
That is the thirteenth Northern California restaurant for the chain.
Particulars: Open each day from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 2532 Augustine Drive, Santa Clara; www.sweetgreen.com
