Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol tells FOX Enterprise why the corporate enhanced its parental depart profit.

“Workers United proposals call for an immediate increase in the minimum wage of hourly partners by 64% and by 77% over the life of a three-year contract,” Starbucks stated in an announcement. “This is not sustainable.”

SBWU members voted to authorize the strike on Tuesday within the lead-up to a gathering between the union and the corporate for additional negotiations.

Unionized Starbucks places in Los Angeles, Seattle and Chicago launched their picket traces on Friday, and the strike will escalate, increasing to extra shops throughout the nation by Christmas Eve.

1000’s of Starbucks employees at over 525 shops belong to SBWU. 

A Starbucks spokesperson stated in an announcement Friday, “There has been no significant impact to our store operations. We are aware of a disruption at a small handful of stores, but the overwhelming majority of our US stores remain open and serving customers as normal.”
