Greater than 1,000 flights had been canceled, and a whole bunch of others had been delayed throughout the U.S. on Monday after a winter storm blasted a big a part of the nation with heavy snow and ice.

A complete of 1,339 flights had been canceled, and 606 flights had been delayed, as of 6:45 a.m. ET, in line with flight-tracking web site FlightAware.

Southwest Airways canceled 265 flights, probably the most amongst carriers, adopted by American Airways at 176. Reagan Nationwide Airport in Washington, D.C., canceled 234 flights, probably the most amongst airports and constituting 58% of all flights scheduled there, in line with the information.

Main U.S. airways issued journey advisories between Saturday and Monday, together with Delta, American, United Airways and Southwest.

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a snow emergency till not less than the top of the day on Tuesday, whereas Maryland Gov. Wes Moore declared a state of emergency and warned residents to keep away from touring.
