Sean C. Dunn, affectionately nicknamed the “Sandwich Guy” after lobbing his Subway footlong at a Border Patrol officer, is not going to spend time behind bars after a jury acquitted the Air Pressure veteran on Thursday of misdemeanor assault prices.

She’s been having a tough go at doing precisely what she was employed to do, and Dunn’s case is one other instance of that.

However that doesn’t imply we are able to’t benefit from the meaty moments that emerged from the trial.

“The sandwich kind of exploded all over my uniform,” Border Patrol Officer Gregory Lairmore testified on Tuesday. “It smelled of onions and mustard.”

Throughout the trial, prosecutors tried to persuade the jury that Dunn’s dinner supply to Lairmore’s bulletproof-vest-clad chest was a violent assault.

However the protection didn’t purchase the sob story, declaring the sandwich-themed memorabilia Lairmore displayed in his workplace following the incident.

“If that vest … is going to keep you safe from military rifle fire, it is certainly going to keep you safe from a sandwich,” legal professional Sabrina Shroff mentioned.

And naturally, regardless of the person who acquired pelted by some pastrami discovering humor in all of it, Dunn—who labored as a paralegal with the Workplace of Worldwide Affairs within the Justice Division’s felony division—was fired from his job.

Whereas Dunn’s days on the DOJ underneath this administration is likely to be toast, his motion turned an emblem for the resistance towards Trump’s invasion of blue cities.

From sandwich-lobbing to the Portland frog, these jokesters are bringing humorous consideration to some severe points within the U.S.

And whereas we are able to chortle, the meat of the matter is that individuals are enraged and anxious in regards to the Trump administration’s heinous therapy of immigrants, their disappearances, and the usage of army and masked federal forces towards the folks protesting these travesties.
