SAN RAMON — A historic home that dates again to 1852 caught fireplace Wednesday in an incident that’s being investigated as potential arson, authorities mentioned.
The fireplace broke out on the Harlan Home, which is without doubt one of the oldest homes in San Ramon, in response to a social media submit from the San Ramon Valley Hearth Safety District.
“We are deeply saddened by the destruction that took place today,” authorities mentioned.
The home is situated close to the intersection of San Ramon Valley Boulevard and West Aspect Drive, authorities mentioned. The deserted home was “well involved” when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters have been in a position to include the flames and mitigate the unfold to surrounding buildings and vegetation, authorities added.
The reason for the hearth is being investigated by the hearth safety district’s arson investigation crew and the San Ramon Police Division, authorities mentioned.
