In 2018, Gayheart filed for divorce from the Gray’s Anatomy alum — however in March 2025, she dismissed the divorce submitting.
Lower than a month after she filed this dismissal, Dane revealed that he was identified with the aforementioned illness.
“I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,” he instructed Individuals Journal on the time.

“It’s super complicated for me,” Gayheart continued on this podcast. “We’ve been separated for eight years. The kids live with me 100 percent of the time. There’s been a lot of other stuff. I’m trying to stay optimistic, though, about it all.”

“I don’t know if I’m doing it well or if I’m doing it in the wrong way or the right way,” she stated. “I’m just showing up. I’m showing up and I’m trying to be there for them. I guess time will tell.”
