The presence of thousands of migrants amassed near Belarus’s border with Poland has escalated tensions between Minsk and the European Union, which blames Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko for ushering the migrants to the bloc.

On Tuesday, Poland’s Ministry of Defense released a video showing crowds of migrants camped on the Belarusian side of the border fence, waiting to cross. Polish authorities said that between 3,000 and 4,000 migrants had arrived there in recent days and as many as 10,000 others were in Belarus and ready to try to cross into Poland.
