My score: Straightforward
My rating: 1 trace
I’m slightly aggravated at myself for not getting an ideal rating right this moment, as a result of that is one other pretty straightforward Strands puzzle from the NYT. However I wanted one other trace to get going, with no solutions standing out regardless of the (in hindsight) comparatively apparent theme clue. The irritating factor is that ‘Gnaw-it-alls’ did counsel an animal to me, and I seemed for beaver – which appeared the obvious instance. However that wasn’t there and I used a touch to get began.
As soon as I had that first phrase (HAMSTER) all of it grew to become lots simpler. MUSKRAT and SQUIRREL have been easy, the spangram much more so, and although the ultimate two have been tougher, largely as a result of their spellings, I accomplished the sport in solely about 5 minutes.
