DANVILLE — Johnny Millard is stepping down as Monte Vista’s soccer coach after main the Danville program for 3 seasons, he introduced Wednesday on X.

“This decision was not easy,” Millard wrote, “as my time with this program has truly been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life.”

Monte Vista missed the North Coast Part playoffs in Millard’s first two seasons.

In his third, the Mustangs completed 5-5 within the common season earlier than shedding an time beyond regulation thriller to Bishop O’Dowd 31-28 within the first spherical of the Division II playoffs.

Millard’s workforce final fall included Washington-bound working again Julian McMahan and tight finish Kellan Ford, an Arizona signee.

In his resignation submit, Millard provided form phrases for his gamers and assistant coaches, mother and father and college directors, in addition to the band and cheer squad.

“My decision comes from the need to focus more on my growing family, who have been my rock and my greatest source of joy,” he wrote. “They’ve sacrificed so much so I could pour my heart into this role, and it’s time for me to give that energy back to them.”
