Ever since Dangerous Bunny introduced that he’ll be headlining the halftime present at Tremendous Bowl LX, individuals who know actually nothing about up to date music have felt the necessity to weigh in.

A lot of the hate has come from people in wraparound shades delivering impassioned speeches to their 13 followers from the entrance seat of their Chevy Equinoxes.

However a number of the critics have tens of millions of followers and a complete lot of clout.

Take, for instance, Speaker of the Home Mike Johnson, who slammed Dangerous Bunny this week — simply seconds after admitting he doesn’t know who the rapper is.

Mike Johnson says Dangerous Bunny ‘doesn’t attraction to broader viewers’

“I didn’t even know who Bad Bunny was. But it sounds like a terrible decision, in my view, from what I’m hearing,” Johnson stated when requested concerning the halftime present this week.

When requested why, the speaker defined, “It sounds like he’s not someone who appeals to a broader audience.”

Johnson added, “And there are so many eyes on the Super Bowl — a lot of young, impressionable children. And, in my view, you would have Lee Greenwood, or role models, doing that. Not somebody like this.”

We’ve heard plenty of ridiculous arguments in opposition to the NFL’s choice.

However arguing that Spotify’s third most-streamed artist of 2024 lacks widespread attraction? That is perhaps essentially the most bonkers up to now.

And lots of commenters had been joyful to set Speaker Johnson straight on that false impression.

“Lee Greenwood, 447,000 Spotify followers. Bad Bunny 79 million,” one Instagram consumer wrote.

“Bad Bunny is a great role model. He is caring, spreads messages of love, unity, and family. He has strong family values unlike Mr. Johnson,” one other added.

“You can actively see him trying to think up a reason that doesn’t sound racist,” a 3rd chimed in.

Conservative politicians proceed to focus on Dangerous Bunny

Johnson, after all, shouldn’t be the primary Republican to criticize Dangerous Bunny regardless of having by no means heard his music.

“I’ve never heard of him. I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s crazy. … I think it’s absolutely ridiculous,” President Donald Trump stated in response to a current query about Dangerous Bunny.

And naturally, ICE is already threatening the Tremendous Bowl halftime present as a result of that’s simply the age we stay in.

Fortunately, Dangerous Bunny appears to be taking all of this in stride and refusing to again down. Typically that’s all you are able to do in 2025.
