A Pennsylvania resident has been sentenced for drug associated expenses within the Northern District of West Virginia. Jo-El Torres, 40, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to l0 years in federal jail for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

 

Throughout a visitors cease in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a K9 officer positively alerted for the presence of medicine in a automobile occupied by Torres. Torres was directed to exit the automobile. At that time, Torres tried to swallow a bag and its contents. Officers have been in a position to subdue him and retrieve the bag. Subsequent lab assessments confirmed that the bag contained fentanyl and different medicine.

 

That is the third federal drug conviction for Torres. Torres will serve three years of supervised launch following his jail sentence.

 

Assistant U.S. Legal professional Andrew Cogar prosecuted the case on behalf of the federal government. The matter was investigated by the Higher Harrison County Drug Process Pressure, a HIDTA funded initiative; the Harrison County Sheriff s Workplace; the Clarksburg Police Division; and the West Virginia State Police. U.S. District Decide Thomas S. Kleeh presided.

 

The Bridgeport Police Division has members on the Process Pressure.
