Household and buddies of Bailey McCourt gathered Saturday evening to recollect the Kelowna mom of two, weeks after she was killed in a daylight assault in a parking zone.
The memorial was held on the Mission Sports activities Subject, with attendees sharing reminiscences, and tying posters in addition to photos of the 32-year-old to baseball diamond fences.
McCourt’s mom, Karen Fehr, says the place held nice significance to her and her daughter.
“Finding out the Bats for a Cause tournament was going on this weekend, which is a really important tournament to all the ball players here, raising money for the children’s hospital, it was a no brainer.”

McCourt was brutally attacked again on July 4, later succumbing to her accidents in hospital.

Her estranged husband, James Plover, was arrested after the assault and now faces a cost of second-degree homicide within the case.

It’s alleged Plover attacked McCourt with a hammer, simply a short while after being convicted of home violence fees in a Kelowna courtroom on the identical day.
Plover was charged with assault by choking and uttering threats in June 2024.
The identities of the victims within the earlier case are protected by a publication ban.
Members of the family together with Fehr have expressed anger and unhappiness over McCourt’s demise.
“If this could be the one to give us a reason to actually change [laws], I might be able to find a little bit more peace in what happened,” mentioned Fehr. “Women have been waiting and waiting for the change we need when it comes to violence against us.”
