Reservation activist Manoj Jarange on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) accused the Maharashtra authorities of failing to fulfil its guarantees to the Maratha group and warned of launching a recent starvation strike in Mumbai on August 29.

Chatting with media individuals at Antarwali Sarthi village in Jalna district, Mr. Jarange alleged that the federal government has deceived the Maratha group.

The activist has undertaken a number of starvation strikes demanding the popularity of all Marathas as Kunbis — an agrarian caste listed underneath the Different Backward Lessons class and reservation for the politically dominant group in authorities jobs and schooling.

He has constantly referred to as for the implementation of historic information, together with the Bombay, Satara, and Hyderabad gazettes, which he claims doc the classification of the Maratha group as Kunbis.

“Four major demands of the Marathas, which the government assured would be implemented, have not been fulfilled. The government has once again deceived the community,” Mr. Jarange stated.

He warned of endeavor a recent starvation strike in Mumbai on August 29 and launching a march to town.

“We have been patient for the last two years. Now the time has come to rise. I appeal to all Marathas — don’t sit silently. We must fight for our rights,” he stated, urging group members to wrap up their farming actions in two months and put together to march to Mumbai.

The activist slammed the administration for failing to problem the federal government gazette relating to the Sage Soyare notification and for not implementing the gazettes of Bombay, Satara, and Hyderabad.

He claimed that greater than 58 lakh paperwork have been collected to show that Kunbis and Marathas are the identical, and demanded the discharge of Kunbi certificates based mostly on these information.

Whereas appreciating the efforts of the Shinde Committee in unearthing essential paperwork, he criticised authorities officers for not issuing Kunbi certificates regardless of proof.

Mr. Jarange additional lashed out on the State authorities for not withdrawing circumstances registered in opposition to Maratha reservation protesters, calling it a betrayal of belief.

“I will not back down this time. The government must act or face the consequences,” he stated.
