Mandela Barnes jumps into crowded race for Wisconsin governor

Former Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes launched his bid to switch retiring Gov. Tony Evers on Tuesday, becoming a member of an already crowded and aggressive Democratic main.

Barnes, who misplaced a 2022 Senate race in opposition to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), targeted on affordability and attacked Republicans in his launch video, arguing that it “seems like the harder you work, the more Washington looks the other way — lower taxes for billionaires, higher prices for working people.”

“Under Trump, the name of the game has been distraction and chaos to avoid accountability,” Barnes stated. “It isn’t about left or right, it isn’t about who can yell the loudest. It’s about whether people can afford to live in the state they call home.”

However Barnes’ entrance is just not anticipated to clear the first discipline, prefer it did in his 2022 Senate main, a number of Wisconsin Democrats stated.
