A person who was smuggling in a gold necklace studded with diamonds value Rs 6.08 crore was arrested upon arrival on the IGI Airport from Bangkok, officers right here stated on Sunday.
On the premise of profiling, Customs officers booked a case of smuggling of gold necklace studded with diamonds on February 12 in opposition to one Indian male passenger, who arrived at IGI Airport’s T-3 from Bangkok.
Detailed examination of the bags and private search of the passenger resulted within the restoration of a diamond-studded gold necklace weighing 40 grams, having a complete worth of Rs 6,08,97,329 (Rs 6.08 crore), the Delhi Customs stated in a publish on X.
The recovered gold necklace has been seized beneath Part 110 of the Customs Act, 1962, and the person positioned beneath arrest when it comes to Part 104 of the act, it stated and added additional investigation was underway.
