A person has died after a head-on automotive crash Saturday morning.

James Thompson, 58, of Troy, was killed when his 2017 Hyundai Tuscon hit one other automobile, a 2009 Ford F-250, pushed by Robert J. Sensible, 57, of Luverne, in line with the Alabama Legislation Enforcement Company.

“Thompson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Wise was also injured and transported to Southeast Health in Dothan for medical treatment,” the company mentioned in a press release Saturday.

The crash occurred about 7:45 a.m., roughly eight miles north of Luverne, on the 158 mile marker of U.S. 29 in Pike County.

An investigation of the crash by state troopers is underway.
