Man dies in Oakland site visitors collision

OAKLAND — A 49-year-old man died Sunday morning after his automotive collided with one other automobile in West Oakland, authorities mentioned.

The identify of the person killed has not but been launched pending notification of his household.

The collision occurred about 8:43 a.m. Sunday on the intersection of Linden Road and West Grand Avenue.

Police mentioned the 49-year-old man was driving a Volvo sedan northbound on Linden Road.

Preliminary stories from police had been that the Volvo didn’t cease for a cease signal on the intersection and was hit by a Mitsubishi Montero SUV that was touring eastbound on West Grand Avenue..

The 49-year-old man was taken to a hospital the place he later died.

The SUV driver, an Oakland man, was not injured. He remained on the scene and was cooperating with site visitors investigators.

Police mentioned it isn’t but identified if medication or alcohol had been components within the collision.

The police investigation is constant.  Anybody with info might contact site visitors investigators at 510-777-8570.
