Sustainable skincare

Shea Botanics is a purpose driven line of carefully selected and crafted naturally derived products that actively contribute to the African economy and create long term opportunities for local communities. How does that translate to skincare? Love, respect and social impact are the ethos of our company. We’re on a mission to positively further the beauty community while preserving the integrity of the land through high-performance skincare that marries ancient knowledge with modern techniques.

Sustainability is at the core of our work, from responsibly harvested ingredients, reusable and recycled packaging and partnering with organizations that share our same for environmental preservation. At Shea Botanics we not only wanted to make products that deliver results, but a company that is powered by social responsibility.

Made in Africa where the rich culture and spectacular beauty inspires everything we do, the majority of our ingredients are locally grown. Harvesting the fruits of Africa, which have been used for centuries as natural remedies for healing and beauty, we have developed a range of deeply nourishing skin care products including face oils, hair elixirs, body butters and soaps that leave your skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Our ingredients represent the bounty of our continent with African oils and elixirs derived from indigenous African plants such as Marula, Argan, Shea Butter, Kalahari Melon, Baobab and Rose Geranium, forming the basis of our products. Simple, pure elements you can understand that are free from parabens, sulfates and other harmful toxins.

Our plant-based, clean formulas support timeless beauty, keep our earth happy and bring a little piece of Africa to the world.

It’s crucial that the plants which we benefit from now are around for generations to enjoy. We ensure wherever possible that our ingredients are sustainable, hand-harvested from indigenous ecosystems where they natively grow.  And we have partnered with One Tree Planted, a not for profit organization focused on global reforestation and ensuring resources relied upon by communities are not depleted.

Beyond the environment which we make our products from, being a source of dignified work for local, marginalized communities is fundamental to our values. We employ local women to work across all stages of our business and are proud to offer opportunities that will create generational changes in the region. With our products we want to change the way the world experiences the wonder Africa has to offer and inspire future generations of women to re-define their futures by harnessing their own passions for good.

“I offer you naturally derived products from sustainable sources, responsibly packaged to reduce negative impact on the planet and to actively contribute to the African economy and future in a positive way. I invite you to join us on this journey – In a Beautiful Way” Nafisa
