“The ICCU may be subject to certain electric load conditions that can cause the internal metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor… to fail, potentially resulting in an open ICCU fuse,” the automaker mentioned within the report. “An open ICCU fuse results in an inability to charge the 12-volt battery.”

Hyundai mentioned Monday in an announcement to FOX Enterprise it recalled the automobiles “to ensure the safety of its customers and out of an abundance of caution.” It mentioned that among the Hyundai and Genesis automobiles had been beforehand recalled.

The difficulty has not been liable for any crashes or accidents within the U.S. or Canada thus far, the corporate instructed FOX Enterprise. In Canada, one other 34,500 automobiles are additionally dealing with recall for a similar purpose, it mentioned.

The automaker mentioned that airbags, braking and powered steering would “remain operational” if recalled automobiles lose the flexibility to cost their 12-volt auxiliary batteries and provoke a “design-intended ‘fail-safe’ driving mode that allows immediate full propulsion while gradually reducing motive power over time as the vehicle’s battery is discharged.”
