The Iranian-backed Houthis stated Saturday an Israeli airstrike killed the prime minister of the rebel-controlled authorities within the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

Ahmed al-Rahawi was killed in a Thursday strike in Sanaa together with various ministers, the rebels stated in an announcement.

The Israeli navy stated Thursday that it “precisely struck a Houthi terrorist regime military target in the area of Sanaa in Yemen.”

Al-Rahawi, who served as prime minister to the Houthi-led authorities since August 2024, was focused together with different members of his Houthi-controlled authorities throughout a routine workshop held by the federal government to judge its actions and efficiency over the previous 12 months, the rebels’ assertion stated.
