Janet E. Martino, 81, of Richmond, VA, handed away peacefully on August 23, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Dick and Dorothy Wolfe of Nutter Fort, West Virginia. She shared an extended and loving marriage with the late Don Martino.
Janet was additionally preceded in dying by her toddler daughter, Deanna Jo Martino.
She is survived by her beloved son, Steven Martino of Richmond, VA; and her cherished brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Tressa Wolfe of Bridgeport, WV. Janet will even be lovingly remembered by 5 nieces, two nephews, many Wolfe cousins, and quite a few great-nieces and great-nephews.
A proud 1961 graduate of RW Excessive Faculty in Nutter Fort, WV, Janet went on to earn her bachelor’s diploma from Fairmont State Faculty. She started her profession educating at WI Excessive Faculty earlier than transferring to Richmond, VA, with Don. Janet devoted a few years to serving the Commonwealth of Virginia, starting with the Virginia Employment Fee, later becoming a member of the Division of Labor and Business, and retiring as Human Assets Supervisor at DOLI. She valued her work, solid lasting friendships, and took nice pleasure in her contributions to the state.
Janet had a heat and hospitable spirit and maintained a large circle of pricey buddies from VEC and DOLI, water aerobics, sorority sisters of 49 years with Sigma Phi Gamma Worldwide (Nu Sigma Chapter), and fellow little league baseball mother and father. She relished time spent with household and buddies, and infrequently expressed her love via the meals she ready. Her signature dishes, pasta salads, and Christmas cookies might be fondly remembered by all who had been fortunate sufficient to share them.
Janet lived a life full of affection, laughter, and dedication to her household and buddies. Her kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit might be deeply missed and perpetually treasured by those that knew her.
