DEHRADUN: Practically two dozen villages in Uttarakhand’s Chakrata area have collectively banned quick meals, lavish items and high-cost customs at weddings to curb rising social strain and restore conventional practices. The principles, agreed upon unanimously by village representatives within the Jaunsar Bawar space, intention to return wedding ceremony celebrations to their cultural roots and cut back monetary pressure on households.
