First-Ever Barbour County Water Competition Set for Tuesday

First-Ever Barbour County Water Competition Set for Tuesday

Greater than 150 fifth-grade college students from Belington Center College, Philippi Center College, and Kasson Elementary College will take part within the inaugural Barbour County Water Competition on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

College students will study concerning the state’s aquatic life, flooding, stormwater, the water cycle, acid rain, and wetlands with companions from the Nationwide Climate Service, West Virginia Division of Pure Assets Wildlife Division, Conservation Legacy, Associates of the Cheat, Guardians of the West Fork, and WVDEP’s Division of Air High quality. 

The occasion will happen on the Barbour County Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is sponsored by the WVDEP Watershed Enchancment Department’s Mission Water Training As we speak Program and Save the Tygart Watershed Affiliation.
