F/A-18, Sea Hawk helicopter crash in South China Sea in separate incidents

A Navy fighter jet and a helicopter crashed within the South China Sea in separate incidents on Sunday, the Navy stated. Crew members from each plane have been safely rescued.

In response to the U.S. Pacific Fleet, an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter that was assigned to the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 73 “Battle Cats” crashed round 2:45 p.m. native time whereas “conducting routine operations.”

All three crew members have been rescued, the Pacific Fleet stated in an X put up.

About half-hour later, an F/A-18F Tremendous Hornet fighter from the Strike Fighter Squadron 22 “Fighting Redcocks” additionally crashed whereas conducting routine operations, the fleet stated. Its two crew members ejected and have been rescued by search and rescue groups from Provider Strike Group 11.

The Pacific Fleet stated all crew members have been in steady situation. 

It stated the causes of the crashes have been beneath investigation.
