Congress chief Faisal Patel, son of the late Ahmed Patel, a detailed confidant of Sonia Gandhi, alleged {that a} “cliqueish culture” dominated by “out-of-control advisors” is hurting the celebration.

Though reaffirming his Congress membership, Patel admitted to deep frustration. “I worked very hard for nothing, it hurts. I feel disgruntled, but I continue to do good work. I can be a huge asset for the party,” he stated.

His remarks add to a rising record of public expressions of dissent inside the Congress, spotlighting what he described as a “talent-agnostic” organisational tradition.
