Cupertino fruit harvest yields 250 lbs. for native starvation aid

A latest neighborhood initiative led by the Local weather Motion Committee of Cupertino Rotary membership turned neighborhood abundance right into a supply of hope for native households. In simply 3-1/2 hours, a small workforce of volunteers harvested roughly 250 kilos of contemporary fruit from neighborhood bushes.

The pilot harvest venture, accomplished in late April, noticed volunteers from Cupertino Rotary and West Valley Neighborhood Providers gathering fruit from native bushes. Their efforts crammed a few dozen crates, remodeling what may in any other case have gone to waste into nutritious meals for neighbors in want.

The harvest was organized as a collaborative effort, with volunteers choosing, sorting and packing the fruit, which was then distributed to shoppers of West Valley Neighborhood Providers who’re coping with meals insecurity.

This native harvest effort is a part of a broader motion championed by organizations like Village Harvest, which engages volunteers to reap and distribute contemporary fruits from neighborhood bushes.
