A large fireplace broke out at a manufacturing unit in Delhi’s Bawana industrial space early Saturday, triggering a strong explosion that precipitated the constructing to break down, the Delhi Hearth Companies (DFS) stated.
“Seventeen fire tenders were rushed to the spot in Sector 2 after a call reporting a fire at a factory manufacturing plastic bottles was received at 4.48 am,” DFS chief Atul Garg stated.
Thick black smoke was seen billowing from the multi-storey constructing, which collapsed after an explosion, because the flames quickly engulfed your complete construction.
No accidents or casualties have been reported thus far, officers stated.
The explosion, which occurred shortly after the hearth broke out, jolted the residents within the close by areas, triggering panic as a number of locals rushed out of their properties, fearing additional blasts, they stated.
The rescue and containment operations confronted problem as a result of particles scattered throughout, they stated.
Police have launched a probe to seek out out what triggered the hearth and the following explosion.
The constructing’s structural integrity and adherence to security protocols are being examined.
