Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday (June 19, 2025) introduced that college students evacuated from Iran will likely be ferried from Delhi to the Union Territory in deluxe buses.
As many as 90 college students from Jammu and Kashmir have been among the many 110 individuals evacuated from war-affected Iran on Wednesday. They have been taken to Armenia earlier than being flown to Doha. The scholars arrived in Delhi from the Qatari capital early Thursday.
In a publish on X, the Chief Minister’s Workplace stated the resident commissioner has been directed to rearrange deluxe buses of the Jammu & Kashmir Highway Transport Company to move the scholars.
The Chief Minister has taken observe of the request of the scholars evacuated from Iran concerning the standard of buses organized to move them from Delhi to J&Okay. The Resident Commissioner has been tasked with coordinating with the JKRTC to make sure correct deluxe buses are organized.
“The Chief Minister has taken note of the request of the students evacuated from Iran regarding the quality of buses arranged to transport them from Delhi to J&K,” the Workplace of the Chief Minister stated.
