Jeff Bezos, the billionaire tech mogul and proprietor of The Washington Submit, says he views it as a accountability of the mainstream media to persuade President-elect Trump the press is just not his enemy.

“I’m going to try and talk him out of that idea,” Bezos mentioned on the New York Instances DealBook Summit on Wednesday. “I don’t think the press is the enemy.”

“You’ve probably grown in the last two years, he has too,” he instructed journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin throughout an interview. “Let’s go persuade him of this. I don’t think he’s going to see it the same way, but maybe I’ll be wrong.”

Bezos mentioned Trump as we speak strikes him as “calmer” than he was throughout his first marketing campaign for the White Home and “more confident and settle.”

The billionaire’s feedback come simply weeks after he sparked widespread outrage with a call to kill an editorial endorsing Vice President Harris that was set to be printed by the Submit.

Bezos on the time defended the choice by saying presidential endorsements erode belief in media and dismissed options he was capitulating to Trump to advance his enterprise pursuits.

On Wednesday, he mentioned he was “optimistic” a couple of second Trump time period, citing the incoming president’s “energy” round deregulation.
