A retired professor at Auburn College was stabbed to loss of life over the weekend in a park close to the Alabama faculty campus, based on Auburn Police and the college. A person has been arrested and charged in her homicide.

“College of Veterinary Medicine Professor Emerita Julie Gard Schnuelle, DVM, Ph.D., was killed Saturday, Sept. 6, in Kiesel Park in Auburn, Alabama. The Auburn University community extends its sincere condolences to Dr. Gard Schnuelle’s family and loved ones for their tragic loss,” Auburn College mentioned in a press release. “She was a cherished educator, mentor and colleague whose dedication to students and passion for theriogenology and veterinary medicine left a lasting impact on Auburn.”

Officers responded to a name at round 2 p.m. Saturday reporting a deceased particular person in a wooded part of the park, based on Auburn Police.
