The Teamsters union issued a warning Thursday that vacation packages might be delayed as hundreds of Amazon employees joined picket strains to combat for a good union contract that ensures wages, well being care and security. 

Nevertheless, Amazon advised FOX Enterprise that it does not count on any affect on operations.

“If your package is delayed during the holidays, you can blame Amazon’s insatiable greed. We gave Amazon a clear deadline to come to the table and do right by our members. They ignored it,” Teamsters Basic President Sean M. O’Brien stated in an announcement.

Although the Teamsters union says it represents about 10,000 individuals throughout ten Amazon amenities within the U.S., Amazon stated it does not acknowledge employees’ affiliation with the union. 

Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel advised FOX Enterprise in an announcement that that is an “attempt to push a false narrative.”

“Teamsters have continued to intentionally mislead the public – claiming that they represent ‘thousands of Amazon employees and drivers’. They don’t,” Nantel stated, including that “the Teamsters have actively threatened, intimidated and attempted to coerce Amazon employees and third-party drivers to join them, which is illegal and is the subject of multiple pending unfair labor practice charges against the union.”

The strike started after the teamsters on the DCK6 Amazon facility in San Francisco voted to authorize a strike of their combat for union recognition and a good contract.

The Teamsters stated that they had set a Dec. 15 deadline for the corporate to barter a labor settlement.

The union additionally claimed that over 20 bargaining models, representing almost 9,000 staff, have efficiently organized and that the corporate “threatens, intimidates and coerces its workers by unleashing union busters to swarm facilities.”
