Hiroshima on Wednesday marked the eightieth anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of the western Japanese metropolis, with many growing older survivors expressing frustration in regards to the rising help of world leaders for nuclear weapons as a deterrence. The bombing of Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945, destroyed town and killed 140,000 folks. Japan surrendered on Aug. 15, ending World Struggle II and Japan’s almost half-century of aggression in Asia. For in-depth evaluation and a deeper perspective, FRANCE 24’s Stuart Norval welcomes Nicole Grajewski, Fellow within the Nuclear Coverage Program on the Carnegie Endowment for Worldwide Peace. Her focus is on Russian nuclear technique, Iran’s nuclear decision-making and nuclear deterrence.
