Studying Time: 3 minutes

Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have been over for greater than two years.

And but, not lengthy sufficient.

Not lengthy sufficient for her followers. And, it appears, possibly not lengthy sufficient for his mother.

Healy’s mom is speaking like her son dodged a bullet. Though that’s kind of the alternative of the remainder of the world’s take.

Matty Healy’s mother has some issues to (not) say about Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is getting some shade from Denise Welch, mom of Matty Healy.

On the Thursday, July 24 episode of Watch What Occurs Dwell, Welch sat down to speak with Andy Cohen.

Naturally, the section included questions on The Tortured Poets Division, the 2024 album that — to the astonishment of many — included quite a few songs that gave the impression to be about Healy.

“Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode,” Welch quipped.

“But not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost,” she admitted.

The daring confession elicited comprehensible gasps from the viewers.

“Not that I have anything against her at all,” Welch properly clarified. “It was just — it was tricky.”

SHE can’t say something, however there’s ‘a whole album about it’

Denise Welch gave the clear impression that she resented that she couldn’t talk about the Taylor Swift and Matty Healy debacle when the billionaire singer clearly can — after a trend.

“She — listen, you’re not allowed to say anything,” she griped, “and then she writes a whole album about it.”

To be clear, not one of the TTPD songs name-drops Healy.

And the album’s title seemingly takes its title as a reference to a different ex, Joe Alwyn.

Nonetheless, “Guilty As Sin,” “Down Bad,” “Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus,” “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” all look like references to Swift and Healy’s ill-advised entanglement.

Welch insisted that Healy took Swift’s musical account of occasions “all in good grace.”

She emphasised: “He is very happy with his amazing fiancee Gabriella, who is gorgeous. So, we’ve moved on.”

Who dodged a bullet, precisely?

From Could to June of 2023, Taylor Swift had what followers labeled a “dirtbag summer” with Matty Healy.

Though the ill-advised relationship befell within the spring.

Previous to this, that they had been longtime buddies.

Generally, friends-to-lovers makes for an ideal romance. Different occasions, it destroys the friendship that existed within the first place.

Clearly, it was the latter on this case.
