ASP investigating taking pictures fatality on Interstate 40 close to Carlisle

CARLISLE, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Prison Investigation Division (CID) is investigating a taking pictures that halted site visitors on I-40 and I-70 for a number of hours. 

The taking pictures occurred on Interstate 40 eastbound close to the 180 mile marker west of Carlisle at about 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.

Based on officers, ASP troopers and officers with the U.S. Marshals stopped a 33-year-old suspect who was wished in an armed carjacking and kidnapping in Michigan. 

Officers stated the suspect exited his car and pulled out a weapon. Troopers then fired on the suspect and struck him. The suspect died on the scene.

ASP’s CID is investigation the taking pictures and can submit a case file to the Lonoke County Prosecuting Lawyer’s Workplace to find out is use of deadly pressure was in step with Arkansas legislation.
