Chipotle plans to launch eating places in Mexico beginning in 2026 via a newly signed growth settlement.

Below a brand new growth settlement that it has with restaurant operator Alsea, S.A.B. de C.V., Chipotle mentioned Monday it appears to debut its first-ever restaurant in Mexico by “early” subsequent 12 months.

Alsea runs a number of thousand eating places from international fast service, espresso store and full-service manufacturers in lots of international locations in Latin America and Europe, based on Chipotle.

“We are proud to work with an iconic brand like Chipotle and help grow its international business for years to come,” Alsea CEO Armando Torrado mentioned in a press release.

CHIPOTLE CEO DETAILS HOW CHAIN WILL HANDLE TRUMP TARIFF COSTS

Nate Lawton, Chipotle’s chief enterprise growth officer, mentioned in a press release that the chain is “confident that our responsibly sourced, classically-cooked real food will resonate with guests in Mexico.” 

“The country’s familiarity with our ingredients and affinity for fresh food make it an attractive growth market for our company,” he continued.

Chipotle mentioned Monday it would additionally begin “exploring additional expansion markets in the region” with Alsea.

The fast-food chain, recognized for its burritos and bowls, at the moment has a presence in six worldwide markets – Canada, the U.Okay., France, Germany, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. 

The brand new partnership with Alsea comes almost two years after Chipotle signed a global growth settlement targeted on growth within the Center East. That deal was with the Alshaya Group, who, along with Chipotle, has since launched three places in Kuwait and two within the UAE.

Chipotle’s total footprint consists of greater than 3,700 eating places. The overwhelming majority of these – 3,600 – are positioned all through the U.S., based on its annual report. 

CHIPOTLE LOOKS TO HIRE 20,000 WORKERS – AND IT WILL USE AI TO HELP

The corporate has a long-term aim of reaching 7,000 eating places in North America. 

For 2025, the chain “will accelerate growth in Canada and the Middle East in 2025,” CEO Scott Boatwright mentioned throughout the firm’s fourth-quarter earnings name in early February.

“We will also continue to make progress on proving out the economic model in Europe and begin to build a pipeline for growth,” he added.
