China has threatened to take countermeasures towards any nation that strikes commerce offers with the U.S. at Beijing’s expense.

China’s Commerce Ministry issued the warning in a press release on Monday within the newest spherical of rhetoric surrounding the commerce battle between the world’s two greatest economies.

“China firmly opposes any party reaching a deal at the expense of China’s interests,” the ministry stated in a press release. “If this happens, China will never accept it and will resolutely take countermeasures in a reciprocal manner. China is determined and capable of safeguarding its own rights and interests.”

“Appeasement will not bring peace, and compromise will not be respected,” the assertion continued.

President Donald Trump paused sweeping tariffs he introduced on dozens of nations on April 2, although he saved the 145% tariff on Chinese language items. Beijing had retaliated with 125% duties levied on U.S. imports.

Almost 50 international locations have already approached U.S. commerce officers to debate the tariffs, U.S. Commerce Consultant Jamieson Greer stated earlier this month.
