Amin Noroozi, a soccer participant at Acalanes Excessive College, died on Thursday after problems from a swimming accident at Stinson Seashore final weekend.
He was 17.
Based on stories, the accident occurred on Sunday when Noroozi dove into the ocean and struck his head on a sandbar. He sustained a spinal harm and was airlifted to a hospital.
“This sudden loss is a shock to us all, especially given our hopes that things were moving in a different direction,” Shawn stated.
Noroozi, a junior, made the varsity crew final season, however accidents restricted him to a few video games.
Burnsed stated Noroozi by no means did not convey optimistic power to the crew, even after being sidelined.

Acalanes has made efforts to honor Noroozi this previous week.
Noroozi’s mom, Ofelia Noroozi, threw out the primary pitch at Wednesday’s residence baseball sport in opposition to Petaluma. A candlelight vigil in honor of Noroozi is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Acalanes Stadium.
A GoFundMe was arrange earlier this week to assist with Noroozi’s restoration efforts. The fundraiser had raised over $158,000 as of Friday morning.
