Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk made shock appearances to the Peninsula this weekend as … crosswalk voice-overs?

In an obvious peculiar stunt, an unknown hacker weaved faked voice-overs of the tech billionaires with satirical messages on the audio tracks of crosswalks in Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood Metropolis, in keeping with a number of movies circulating on-line this weekend.

Palo Alto officers disabled the affected crosswalk audible options and checked for different hacked crosswalks. They decided “the impact is isolated,” she added.

“Signal operations are otherwise unaffected, and motorists are reminded to always exercise caution around pedestrians,” Horrigan-Taylor stated in a press release.

In Redwood Metropolis, Deputy Metropolis Supervisor Jennifer Yamaguma stated in a press release that the town was conscious Saturday that “a crosswalk signal was hacked, and that a neighboring city experienced a similar incident.”

It’s unclear how the crosswalk alerts had been hacked.

A Menlo Park official didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark Sunday.
