The Marin County Board of Supervisors has unanimously handed a decision authorizing a $500,000 funding towards safeguarding immigrant communities.

The March 4 motion authorizes the County Govt to allocate the funds to bolster authorized rights training and help, youngster and household help providers, and different coordinated help providers for immigrant communities throughout Marin.

Current federal actions, together with sweeping coverage adjustments and immigration raids, have precipitated widespread worry and trauma, the county mentioned in a press launch. Immigrant communities are going through essential challenges to their security, livelihoods, and entry to important providers, in line with officers.

“As a county, we have a responsibility to ensure that every resident, regardless of immigration status, feels safe, supported, and valued,” mentioned Mary Sackett, President of the Marin County Board of Supervisors. “This investment in immigrant support services is not just about funding – it’s about reaffirming our values and making sure people in our community have access to the help they need.”
