Goal’s choice to cut back its range, fairness and inclusion (DEI) applications is being met with backlash from the LGBTQ+ neighborhood on the Minneapolis-headquartered retailer’s residence turf.

Goal introduced Friday that it’s going to implement some modifications to its “Belonging at the Bullseye” technique, together with ending its three-year DEI objectives and ending its Racial Fairness Motion and Change (REACH) initiatives in 2025, as deliberate.

Then over the weekend, organizers of the Twin Cities Pleasure Competition — of which Goal has been a longtime sponsor — mentioned the retailer is not welcome.

Twin Cities Pleasure additionally introduced on social media that it had “made the bold decision to part ways with Target as a sponsor,” noting that the “choice means losing $50,000 in funding.”
