A suspect police accuse of burglarizing President-elect Trump’s marketing campaign workplace within the Virginia suburbs outdoors of Washington, D.C., has been arrested in California, in response to native authorities.
Toby Shane Kessler, 39, was detained on Saturday by the College of California San Francisco Police Division for squatting in a campus dorm, the Loudoun County sheriff’s workplace mentioned in a launch on Thursday.
Kessler was allegedly behind the break-in at a Trump marketing campaign workplace in Ashburn, Va., in August. He broke in by way of the again door of the workplace, spent a “brief” time frame in there earlier than exiting, in response to Loudoun County sheriff’s workplace.
The workplace can be used as Virginia tenth District Republican committee’s headquarters.
The sheriff’s workplace mentioned that Kessler faces housebreaking prices, although regulation enforcement didn’t say if he took something from the workplace.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Sheriff Mike Chapman mentioned on the time the incident befell. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”
In mid-August, the Loudoun County sheriff’s workplace mentioned Kessler has a “history of criminal behavior and appears to have been in the Washington metropolitan area at least since 2018.”
The sheriff’s workplace mentioned he has a California driver’s license.
