BURLINGAME — A person who pointed a loaded firearm at police was in secure situation Saturday after being shot by officers with the San Mateo and Burlingame police departments, authorities mentioned.

Officers from the San Mateo Police Division responded to a report at 2:53 a.m. on Nov. 30 of potential gunshots close to the 800 block of North San Mateo Drive to see a person who pointed a firearm at police and ran. After calling for backup, officers pursued the suspect till a Burlingame police officer situated him at Jefferson Court docket and Peninsula Avenue.

Each Burlingame and San Mateo cops on the scene tried to de-escalate the scenario, however had been unsuccessful. They then fired a “less-lethal rubber projectile” to get the suspect to drop his firearm, in line with a press launch.
