OAKLAND — A 44-year-old bicyclist died Monday after crashing right into a guard rail in North Oakland, authorities mentioned.

The identify of the person, who police mentioned was an Emeryville resident, has not been launched pending notification of his household.

The deadly crash occurred about 4:52 p.m. Monday within the 3500 block of Dwight Manner, within the Claremont hills.

Police mentioned that in line with witnesses the person was using his bicycle westbound, downhill, when he ran right into a guard rail, inflicting him to be ejected from the bicycle onto the roadway.

The person, who police mentioned was not sporting a helmet, suffered accidents and was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
