Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met the Union Minister for Metal & Heavy Industries H.D. Kumara Swamy on Tuesday (October 8, 2024) and requested that the Authorities of India (GoI) determine methods to help Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Restricted (RINL), the holding firm of Visakhapatnam Metal Plant (VSP) and make sure the sustainability of its operations and capability utilisation.
Mr. Kumara Swamy assured that the GoI would take into account the revival of RINL and defined the efforts being made by the GoI to maintain RINL by infusing funds.
Secretary of the Ministry of Metal apprised concerning the challenges confronted by RINL when it comes to availability of uncooked materials and mortgage reimbursement and, the necessity to put money into capital expenditure for efficient capability utilisation.
In a separate assembly with the Union Minister of Petroleum & Pure Gasoline Hardeep Singh Puri, Mr. Naidu mentioned the sanctioning of 65 lakh Deepam gasoline connections underneath the PM Ujjwala Yojana and rushing up the grounding of BPCL refinery in Andhra Pradesh.
