An alert that notified Bay Space residents of a 5.9 earthquake Thursday morning in Nevada was deleted by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The ShakeAlert message at 8:06 a.m. stated the quake was about 15 miles east of Carson Metropolis, close to Dayton. Inside minutes, although, the notification was deleted, and the preliminary occasion report was taken off the USGS web site.
