A suspect hunted for six months within the 2024 taking pictures loss of life of a person in Bessemer is in custody.
Timothy O’Neal Lacey Jr., 21, is charged with homicide within the slaying of 21-year-old James S. Bowen Jr.
Bessemer police detectives obtained the warrant in opposition to Lacey on Might 6. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Friday morning, jail information present.
Cameron Dermell Smoot, a 21-year-old Birmingham man, is charged with conspiracy to commit homicide in Bowen’s loss of life.
He was arrested Might 5 and launched from jail later that month on $60,000 bond.
Smoot’s case has already been waived to a grand jury for indictment consideration.
The taking pictures occurred at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, within the 5900 block of Greenwood Parkway.
