SAN MATEO — Two males had been arrested in reference to an alleged carjacking and assault with a lethal weapon in June, authorities stated.
Simply earlier than 5 a.m. on June 8, police responded to studies of a stolen car, authorities stated. The incident occurred on the 700 block of South Humboldt Avenue.
The sufferer advised police that he had been strolling away from his parked and idling car when he noticed one other car pull up subsequent to it, authorities stated. An individual exited the car and entered the sufferer’s car.
When the sufferer tried to drag the suspect out of the motive force’s seat, a bodily altercation broke out and the suspect lunged on the sufferer with a knife, authorities stated. The sufferer was not injured.
The suspect then drove away within the sufferer’s automobile, and the car he had arrived in fled the scene, authorities stated.
The first suspect was in custody for an unrelated incident and had carjacking and assault with a lethal weapon expenses added to his reserving sheet, police stated.
The driving force was situated with the “assistance” of the California Nationwide Guard, authorities stated, although they didn’t specify how the guard had helped find the suspect. He was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of carjacking and assault with a lethal weapon in a multi-agency operation, authorities added. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
