Hometown prospects in Lebanon, Tennessee, share their ideas on Cracker Barrel scrapping its newly unveiled text-only emblem to maintain its long-standing “Old Timer.”

The proprietor of Steak ‘n Shake is trying to pressure Cracker Barrel’s board into overhauling its management, which they declare destroyed shareholder worth.

Sardar Biglari, founding father of Biglari Capital Company, which owns 2.9% of all of the Cracker Barrel Outdated Nation Retailer’s frequent inventory, is main a proxy battle at Cracker Barrel, urging shareholders to vote in opposition to the re-election of CEO Julie Masino and director and Compensation Committee Chair Gilbert Dávila, in accordance with a securities submitting on Thursday.

Biglari can be the CEO of Biglari Holdings Inc, which is the father or mother firm that owns restaurant chains akin to Steak ’n Shake and Western Sizzlin.

CRACKER BARREL ADMITS IT ‘COULD’VE DONE A BETTER JOB’ AFTER NEW LOGO BACKLASH

“We are seeking shareholder support to vote against these directors not only due to the severe destruction of shareholder value but also a deeper failure to understand the brand, its customers, and its heritage, and a failure to fulfill the Board’s most important job, selecting the right CEO,” Biglari Capital wrote within the proxy submitting.

Biglari Capital stated the board and administration each “betrayed the company’s heritage, alienated loyal customers and undermined investor confidence,” via their methods.

These methods solely worsened present challenges as a substitute of fixing them, which they declare ultimately led to a model refresh that they declare was one of many “century’s worst brand blunders alongside Bud Light and Jaguar.”

Steak ’n Shake escalated the combat in opposition to Cracker Barrel’s CEO, posting on X that it had paid for a billboard emblazoned with the phrases “Fire the CEO” styled in Cracker Barrel’s now-ditched emblem redesign.

It is not the primary time the corporate slammed Cracker Barrel on social media for its advertising mishap.

“Sometimes, people want to change things just to put their own personality on things,” Steak ‘n Shake posted on X in August, together with a picture of a part of the previous Cracker Barrel emblem. “At [Cracker Barrel], their goal is to just delete the personality altogether. Hence, the elimination of the ‘old-timer’ from the signage.

FOX Business reached out to Cracker Barrel for comment.

“We thank your company for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel,” the restaurant chain said in a statement to FOX Business. “We stated we might pay attention, and we’ve got. Our new emblem goes away and our ‘Old Timer’ will stay. At Cracker Barrel, it’s at all times been – and at all times can be – about serving up scrumptious meals, heat welcomes, and the sort of nation hospitality that seems like household.”
